Choir

Bolton Parish Church Choir is an adult SATB choir which sings weekly at the Parish Eucharist, once a month at Choral Evensong and on Festival and other occasions.  It has a wide repertoire, including both traditional and contemporary compositions.  Highlights of the year are the Advent and Christmas Carol Services, and an annual choir trip to sing evensong in a Cathedral setting.

The emphasis on excellent music has led the PCC to invest in the post of Director of Music over many years. A Trust recently agreed to support annual bursaries for one organ scholar and two choral scholars to support and maintain the high musical standards of Bolton Parish Church. These scholarships were advertised in September 2017.

The church is fortunate to house a magnificent three-manual organ, recently refurbished to a high standard, and a fine Yamaha grand piano, both of which are used in the annual summer series of Tuesday Lunchtime Concerts, which runs from just after Easter until the end of July.  A small number of celebrity organ recitals also take place each year.

See separate "What's On" pages for details of concerts and recitals.

The church building is often hired for large - scale concerts by local groups such as the Bolton Choral Union and the Bolton Festival Choir and Orchestra.
